Job Duties & Responsibilities;

A Junior Legal Advisor provides legal support to an organization, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while assisting senior legal staff. Key responsibilities typically include:

1. Legal Research & Analysis

  • Research laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to the organization.
  • Analyze legal documents, contracts, and policies to ensure compliance.
  • Summarize findings and provide recommendations to senior legal advisors.

2. Contract Drafting & Review

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and amending contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence.
  • Ensure contracts comply with company policies and legal standards.
  • Track contract deadlines and renewals.

3. Compliance & Regulatory Support

  • Help monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the organization.
  • Assist in implementing compliance programs and policies.
  • Prepare reports on legal and regulatory risks.

4. Dispute Resolution & Litigation Support

  • Assist in preparing legal documents for disputes, claims, or litigation.
  • Coordinate with external lawyers and regulatory bodies when necessary.
  • Maintain records of legal cases and correspondence.

5. Corporate Governance & Internal Legal Support

  • Assist in corporate filings, registrations, and corporate secretarial tasks.
  • Provide legal guidance to internal departments (HR, Finance, Operations).
  • Help prepare board resolutions, meeting minutes, and corporate policies.

6. Administrative & Documentation Duties

  • Maintain legal databases, case files, and documentation.
  • Organize and archive legal records for easy retrieval.
  • Assist in preparing legal presentations and training materials for staff.

7. Communication & Coordination

  • Liaise with external legal counsel, government agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Communicate legal advice in a clear, concise manner to non-legal colleagues.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Law degree (LLB/JD) and admission to the bar (if required).
  • Experience: 3-4 years in a legal role.
  • Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, attention to detail, communication, teamwork.
